Our Origins

Welcome to Techo-ology, an online stationery and craft shop founded in 2018 at The City of Dream, New York. My name is Chul, allow me to introduce my shop.

Techo(手帳) is a Japanese word which stands for notebook/daily planner as most people know, but there is more to it. Unlike the US, wherein notebook/daily planner are somewhat uncommon, most people use their laptop or cellphone for that. In Japan, Techo is considered to be a necessity to the extent that you can find it on almost everyone among different occupations, genders, and ages. Japanese enthusiasm even coined the term Techo Philosophy, as they believe that how their Techo was used will likely determine their future. To them, Techo is not only a tool for note-taking but also a great tool for life planning as well as safe for their feelings and memories.

What is the one thing that people always bring with them when they move to a new place?

Photo Album, because it captures the important moments of people's life. Techo is just an upgraded version of a photo album as it's able to capture both good and bad moments of people's daily life along with their feeling at that moment.

Our goal is to introduce this philosophy, this new lifestyle to more people. Since day one, we’ve been working tirelessly in order to expand our product offerings and make our customers experience even better.
